Display-Aligned Mounting for Eye Gaze & More

Here is the Tobii 4C and EyeX mounts using the updated “watch-band” style hinges. I talked about these just before the Facebook group was hidden (the second time), but Mary Elizabeth and some others wanted these, so I’ve created a Thingiverse page for them.

Here’s my discussion about it:

This system allows you to mount a device to a display and have the device remain aligned to the display. If the display rotates, the device will as well.

This is especially helpful for things like Eye Gaze devices for Assistive Technology users (and gamers, it turns out) and perhaps cameras and more.

This system is based on our prototype “Watch band” mount for the Tobii EyeX eye gaze device which should be considered obsolete.

To use this system, you will need a Base, some links, and a device connection. Right now we have one base (the VESA mount) and two device connections (the EyeX and 4C eye gaze devices). Additional bases such as tablet & laptop mounts as well as additional devices such as cameras will be added to this system.

Assembly

To connect the hinges, use #6 or 1/8″ bolts at least 2″ long. Or M4 metric bolts at least 50mm long (55 or 60 is better). Matching lock-nuts are ideal and will be captured.

Imperial #6-32 bolts can be ordered here: https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Details.aspx?product=1548
With matching Nuts: https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Details.aspx?product=18193

M4-60 bolts can be ordered her: https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Details.aspx?product=17895
With matching Nuts: https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Details.aspx?product=4802

Please share your “Makes” of them on Thingiverse (and here) and let us know how they work!
